Ba­sic IT ser­vices

To ensure that studies, research and work can begin smoothly, all members of the university have access to the most important IT resources with their personal university account. These include the central university e-mail, secure WLAN access and the option of accessing internal services outside the campus via VPN.

Event ­ and production ­ support

ZIM:Medien supports teaching staff, researchers and students in the planning, realisation and follow-up of media and event formats. It offers infrastructure for audio, video and photo productions, event equipment as well as advice, instruction, technical support and media production.

IT infrastructure, ­ networks & storage

ZIM ensures a modern, efficient and secure IT infrastructure at Paderborn University. It operates the university network, provides centralised network and server services and supports the institutions in planning, operating and expanding their IT systems - from WLAN, VPN and cloud services to backup and archiving.

Communication, ­ Collaboration & ­ Publication

Work efficiently in a network and make results visible: We offer platforms and applications for collaboration, organisation and publication - from wikis, blogs and ticket solutions to M365, TYPO3, research information systems and publication databases.

We ensure a reliable and secure IT environment at Paderborn University. To this end, we operate central security infrastructures, coordinate updates, analyse security incidents and take care of identity and rights management - for the protection of systems and data in everyday university life.

Media technology­ solutions for rooms

Modern media technology for lecture theatres and seminar rooms: planning, installation and support of centrally managed event rooms on campus - from equipment and software configuration, maintenance and theft protection to the further development of innovative usage scenarios and instruction of users.

Whether media production, virtual teaching or hybrid events: ZIM provides rooms for audio, video and graphic production, sound and AV studios as well as hybrid conference and training rooms - including technical support and advice. The equipment, utilisation options and booking channels vary depending on the room type.
